Southwark Rooftop Homes

Across three estates in the London Borough of Southwark, we explored ways of creating new 100% social housing within existing neighbourhoods. Through a mixture of rooftop and infill homes, and careful improvements to the green spaces and landscape. Each estate will provide a number of generous, dual-aspect family homes that echo the character of the estate, but doesn’t attempt to directly replicate it.

The rooftop homes follow the strong rhythms of the maisonette blocks that they will be placed upon - tying the new and old together, in a manner that is respectful of the late 1960s facades.
